Advantages & Details of the Shavest Razor

  • Reduces irritation
  • Reduces strawberry skin
  • Reduces ingrown hairs
  • A closer and gentler shave (no need to shave as often!)
  • More effective than a traditional razor -> Often, one pass is enough
  • An economical solution: 20 blades included (7.5€ savings)ㅤ
  • A plastic-free shaving experience (only the blade is replaced and recycled for you)
  • Does not rust

But how? Plastic razors are naturally lighter, so you have to apply more pressure to shave, damaging the thin layers of skin.

Thanks to its single-blade system, the razor is gentler on the skin than multi-blade razors, without compromising shaving quality.

Unfortunately, that's not all... Plastic razors often also have moisturizing strips with a controversial composition (fragrance, PEG...)

Not to mention the ecological and economical aspects of these razors.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find your question, click here to find out!

What's the difference between the sisal exfoliating glove and the sugar and salt exfoliant?

Sisal glove: The sisal glove gives a gentle, natural exfoliation, stimulating blood circulation while removing dead skin cells. It's perfect for regular care of your arms, legs and whole body. Its texture can feel harsh if you have sensitive skin.

Sugar and salt exfoliant: its grains remove dead skin while its oils nourish your skin. Gentler on delicate areas like the bikini line and underarms, it's used just before shaving, on dry skin, then rinsed off. Perfect if shaving often leaves you with ingrown hairs or irritation, and you want really soft skin.

In short: the sisal glove is ideal for a quick exfoliation if you don't have any particular concerns, while the sugar and salt exfoliant is better suited to delicate areas and specific needs.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

Whether your skin is atopic or just sensitive, our soap, oil, razor, and glove are suitable for everyone! Especially for those with skin problems: imperfections, irritations.
after-shave, ingrown hairs/strawberry skin...

What is the difference between the oil & the balm?

The main difference between our dry oil and our moisturizing balm lies in their composition, texture, and functions.

Dry oil:

• Texture: Lightweight, it is quickly absorbed by the skin.
• Composition: It is formulated with oils such as jojoba, rosehip, apricot kernel, and borage, which balance, purify, and nourish the skin.

• Usage: Perfect for daily hydration, it absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy feeling. It is ideal for underarms and the bikini area thanks to its fast absorption, but it is just as suitable for legs!

Its specific ingredients also make it suitable for preventing ingrown hairs, irritation, and itching, offering a solution for those experiencing this discomfort after shaving or waxing.

Moisturizing balm:

• Texture: Richer and creamier than dry oil.

• Composition: Based on shea butter, enriched with other butters and oils, for deep and soothing hydration.
• Use: Designed to provide intense hydration, it is ideal for very dry or irritated skin after shaving (like crocodile skin). It soothes your skin and regenerates it.

In conclusion, while our dry oil is ideal for light hydration suitable for sensitive areas, our moisturizing balm offers more intense and soothing hydration.

Feel free to include both in your routine to find what suits you best!

Can I use it on the whole body?

Razor: Yes! With it you can shave the bikini line, armpits, etc. BUT we won’t lie to you, like a "classic" razor on these areas you have to go gently. But you already know that haha.

Soap: Yes! You can use it for the body (including intimate areas), and the face.

Dry Oil: Again, yes
! You can use it for the body (including intimate areas),
the face, and even the hair (the advantage of 100% natural haha).

Glove: You can use it on the whole body, except the face for sensitive skin.

Is your razor safe?

So as its name suggests, it is a safety razor haha but compared to other safety razors (which can be scary) we worked to increase safety and thus reduce the number of cuts.Unlike other safety razors, you are much less likely to cut yourself.

How to add the blade?

1. Hold the razor handle with one hand and turn the bottom with your other hand.

2. Unscrew the handle and remove the razor head.

3. Gently place the blade between the two upper pieces, the smooth and even side should be against the handle.

4. Screw the handle back on. The blade direction does not matter.
because it is the same on both sides.

- How to shave with the Shavest razor?

1. Moisten your skin with warm water, use an exfoliant (glove, scrub, etc.) to prevent hairs from growing back blocked (prevents ingrown hairs). Use a shaving soap, shaving oil, or any other product you are used to.

2. Check that the razor head is mounted the right way around.

Important: Tighten the razor head well by holding it on the side so the blade cannot move.

3. Hold your razor at a 30/35 degree angle and shave with short strokes. This makes it easier to adjust the angle and control your razor.

An explanatory video is available on our Instagram

4.
Use little or no pressure; the weight of the razor will provide enough.

5. Be very careful around the knee, ankle, and back of the ankle areas. These areas are the most dangerous!

6. If your legs are warm and moist, you will avoid goosebumps and razor irritation.

7. The safety razor may require a little more learning time than a "classic" razor but it is really worth it!

Feel free to contact us if you need help with your shaving!

Does your razor rust; can it be used under water?

In 95% of cases no (we explain the remaining 5%)! Thanks to the materials we use, our razor does not rust, and the same goes for the blades. It is specially designed to resist water, allowing you to use it worry-free in the shower. However, we always recommend rinsing it with cold water after each use and drying it. Why?

Depending on where you live, the water may contain a high concentration of lime that could eventually corrode even our razor (and this is true for all safety razors).

If you shave frequently, get into the habit of doing it every time you change the blade, for example. It is important to disassemble the razor and rinse it well, then dry it with a towel.

Does your razor suit all skin types, even the most sensitive?

Yes! It is even recommended for people with sensitive skin who often have problems with other razors.
Since it has only one blade and usually just a few passes are enough, it is perfect for sensitive skin.

In addition to a good routine (exfoliation, shaving soap, aftershave oil), this will be your ally against sensitivity.

Genuine reviews we love to share

One month of using your razor and I still only see positive points 😊 My legs are very smooth and I even feel like my hair grows back more slowly! My underarms are much less marked, especially thanks to the reduction of ingrown hairs.

I was a bit apprehensive about using it... And in the end, incredible!! The razor glides on its own. I both feel like I haven't shaved because I don't experience any itching or irritation (legs, armpits, bikini area), and at the same time, I feel very well shaved because my skin is so soft!!

It took a little time, but I’m starting to see progress thanks to your products. Here is my before/after!

"Normal" shaving used to give me irritations after using the razor! I would easily cut myself with ingrown hairs... Since then, Shavest is amazing, a bit heavier, and one pass is enough to cut all the hairs! No cuts, no irritation, and even after two days, no itching! 🤩

I love that shaving makes my skin softer than with a regular razor, and the oil soothed my redness. Quick and efficient customer feedback, I recommend it!

Finally!!! Gentle shaving, and especially the regrowth... From the very first regrowth, fewer ingrown hairs, and soft hairs!

Surprised by the weight of the razor at first but quickly adopted! Shaving is super comfortable! No more itching and much fewer ingrown hairs

I had no problems, the shave always goes very well, no itching or anything afterward, and no cuts. I love this razor, I can see the difference. Everyone should have a razor like this. Thank you for this discovery.

For me, incredible, quick to get used to, easy and very close shaving. No irritation, redness... so happy that a week later I bought a second one for my sister who loves her gift and also wants to buy one to give as a present.

I was a bit apprehensive about using it, but the shave was perfect, zero cuts, and less irritation from the very first use. I highly recommend this razor.

After 1 week of testing, I am amazed by this razor. And the shaving soap ritual, exfoliating glove, and aftershave oil are what perfect the shave. Bravo, the products are of high quality... the shave lasts longer than with a supermarket razor. I really see the difference

I want to say that after the first use, I am quite satisfied! I had no itching during regrowth. I was able to space out my shaves. We'll see in the long term, but for now, I am satisfied.

Thanks to its ingredients, the soap purifies your skin to reduce ingrown hairs but also prepares for an ultra-smooth shave with fewer imperfections & less irritation (razor burn). More information here.

  • 3. The safety razor

Moisturizing strips filled with chemicals, razors that are too light forcing you to press hard on your skin, poor blade quality... That's the problem with plastic razors. Say goodbye to plastic and expensive blade refills! Discover all the benefits of our razor here.

  • 4. The moisturizing balm

What is a safety razor?

Safety razors have been forgotten in favor of disposable plastic razors (yes, the plastic industry, economical at first glance but making us repurchase the same product every week, month, year...).

They have existed much longer than these new razors with their moisturizing strips, and they are much better. Characterized by the fact that they use only one stainless steel blade that you replace by unscrewing the razor head (more details in our videos), made from much more durable materials, these razors are made to last a lifetime.

Little known or still with preconceived notions: "you can cut yourself with it," "it's for men"... it offers the smoothest shave you can experience. Even more so thanks to the work we have done at Shavest: we adapted the razor head so it can be used on the body (remember that the safety razor is old and was often adapted to men's faces...).

What is the difference with other safety razors?

Good question! You may have seen razors similar to ours for sale? But as you might guess, they have nothing to do with our razor.

Why?

• They are not made the same way and are not of the same quality. This causes them to rust and break very quickly. Shavest is a razor that lasts a lifetime!

• There is a higher chance of cutting yourself with other razors! We have worked to create a much safer razor head to minimize the number of cuts as much as possible.

I'm afraid of cutting myself with it, should I?

Many of you were afraid at first, but many told us that in the end, it was safer than a traditional razor. Surprising, right?

So, as its name suggests, it is a safety razor haha, but compared to other safety razors (which can be intimidating), we have worked to increase safety and thus reduce the number of cuts.Unlike other safety razors, you have much less chance of cutting yourself.

What is the duration and price of the blades?

Let's take the example of Clarisse's shaving experience, the co-founder of Shavest, to help you understand the durability of our blades.

Generally, Clarisse shaves every 4 days (although sometimes she might wait a bit longer). She changes the blade after at least 2 months but would say more like 3 months (since she takes good care of it). For 1 pack of 20 blades (free), she has enough to shave for 5 years (that's huge lol). But if you shave every day (which gives you 30 shaves per blade), you will have about 2 years of shaving! 2 years of shaving will cost you exactly €3.75 with the pack of 20 blades. But with the 100-blade pack that lasts you 10 years (or more), you will shave for €2.29 per year!!!

Imagine on Clarisse's scale, if she buys the 100-blade pack, she will use 4-5 blades per year, which means 20 years of shaving already purchased 😅 and for someone who shaves every day -> about 10 years. Nothing more economical & eco-friendly: only the blade gets replaced, and we recycle it 🥰

However, once again, depending on your usage and how you maintain your razor (never rinsing it...), you might need to change your blade more often. In general, if you feel the shave is becoming uncomfortable, you should change the blade.

Is it suitable for all skin types?

Whether your skin is atopic or just sensitive, our soap, our oil, our razor, and our glove are suitable for everyone! Especially for those who have skin problems: blemishes, post-shave irritations, ingrown hairs/strawberry skin...
