FAQ - Tips and Routine for Shaving Your Legs
Preparatory Step:
-
Exfoliation: Before starting, exfoliate your legs with the Sisal Exfoliating Glove or our Sugar Exfoliant to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. This helps avoid hairs getting trapped as they grow back.
-
Moisten your skin: Apply a warm towel to your legs to open pores and expose hair follicles, making shaving easier or simply take a warm/tepid shower (not too hot if you have keratosis pilaris, as it can dry out your skin).
Shaving Step:
-
Soap Application: Create a rich lather with the Solid Shaving Soap - Sesame Citrus
-
Shaving Technique:
-
Start by shaving from bottom to top, against the direction of hair growth for a closer shave (works for legs only).
-
Then, shave lightly on the sides to catch hairs that may grow in different directions.
-
Keep a 30° angle between the razor and your skin to avoid cuts and achieve precise shaving.
-
Use long, steady strokes without pressing too hard (the weight of the razor is enough).
-
Proceed gently, especially in sensitive areas, to avoid irritation and cuts.
-
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have mounted the razor in the correct direction.
-
After Shaving:
-
Soothing & Hydration : Apply the Dry Oil - After Shave to soothe the skin and prevent irritation. Hydration is one of the key points of a good shaving routine. For legs, if you are prone to ingrown hairs or irritation, you might try the oil; if you have more dryness issues (keratosis pilaris) – we recommend the balm.
-
Clothing: Avoid wearing tight clothes immediately after shaving to prevent irritation (if you are very sensitive to these issues, of course).
