About razor recycling
I think you are already aware that millions of plastic razors are thrown away each year in landfills without being recyclable, making them one of the most impactful wastes on our environment, both in terms of volume and harm to the planet. Indeed, plastic razors, due to their complex production (plastic handle, moisturizing strip, multiple blades…), are much harder to recycle, or even impossible.
It was based on this observation that we created Shavest, a razor where only the blade needs to be replaced, allowing you to keep it for life (a safety razor, to be honest, but improved ++). That’s already pretty good, isn’t it?
Not really, because we wanted to go further by offering a shave that generates no waste (as little as possible).
So we asked ourselves how to recycle these blades... And you will realize that no one really talks about it.

*Quick history*: Know that at one time, razor blades were inserted into wall cracks for convenience and because there was no recycling solution (don’t try to break your walls to find them, they are probably unusable).
Nowadays, we throw them in the trash because we don’t exactly know what to do with them (not to mention that it can be dangerous for people sorting the waste).
After several months of work, we have found a partner to collaborate with for recycling used blades, and we are very proud of it!
Purchase a box for used blades: We have created a small box in which you can put your used blades. Your blades will be safe and will be used for recycling.
Box filling: Store as many used blades as possible in the steel box as you use them.
Send the box back to us: Once full, use the return label we will provide to send the box back to our location (cost of €2.90)*.
Eco-responsible recycling: In collaboration with our partner, we will ensure that each blade is recycled responsibly.
For the next blades: We will send you a box for free.
Any questions?
Can I only use safety razor blades? (And other brands?)
Yes! For now, we only recycle safety razor blades, even if they come from other brands (although we prefer our own).
If I buy the box, can I recycle it on my end?
Of course! If you find a recycling center that accepts your blades and recycles them, it is possible (the box and the blades together always).
We know that some accept them, but not all (it's rather rare). This is mainly the reason why we launched this program.
