Ok, welcome to our site, we’re thrilled you made it this far.
Let me introduce myself, I’m Clarisse, the co-founder of Shavest. I’d like to explain how Shavest came to be.
The story is pretty simple, but full of little details that bring me here today, telling you about it!
I’m one of those people who don’t shave very often (I’m not too self-conscious about my hair) but when I do, honestly, I hate it. Most of the time I have the “classic” problems: irritation, itching, ingrown hairs... Basically everything you can imagine with shaving.

Switch to a
Safety razor
So I tried, from my teenage years until I was 24, different alternatives: at-home waxing, salon waxing, electric epilator, etc. Only to end up still feeling pain, it costing me too much, and still having irritations (even at the salon).
In short, I gave up all alternatives to razors and kept shaving with plastic razors you can find in supermarkets, fully aware that I would throw them away after only 3 or 4 uses.
Until the day when… (unbearable suspense) I went on vacation with my boyfriend. I saw in his suitcase a "big" heavy razor, made of steel. Nothing special so far, but for the little story, I had given him a Gillette Labs for Christmas (gifts for guys are complicated, let's be honest), which is why I was surprised at that moment.
So I asked him where the Gillette Labs razor had gone, and he told me about this famous razor which is a "safety razor" (at that time, it was the first time I had heard that word) that he bought for his beard because it doesn’t cause irritation unlike the Gillette. He also told me that even his barber uses it, that it’s great, and that it doesn’t get thrown away like classic razors (there’s also a little eco-friendly aspect to it),

Shavest
Revolutionary journey
On top of that, he was able to take the plane because he had removed the blade and bought a new one on site, and I had to throw away my old plastic razors. (I should have checked, you’ll tell me...)
At that moment, in my head, it went ✨tada✨. But why wouldn’t I try a safety razor?? 😭
Okay, I searched on Google and found only big gray razors, for men and only suitable for beards. Why shouldn’t I have the right to happiness?
I didn’t give up, so I tried shaving with his safety razor.

Solve
The problem
Over time, I’ve managed to shave with it (even though my boyfriend complains a bit that I use it, I actually gave him a Gillette lol), I much prefer it to my old razors, even when we talk about the "best" on the market (Venus, Estrid...). But I’m not 100% satisfied with the razor. I felt it wasn’t made for body shaving, that it was really only suited for the tough hair of the beard and especially for men.
Anyway, I really started looking into the subject and gradually understood how to create a safety razor that adapts to the whole body while reducing cuts, irritation, and ingrown hairs.
I’m working with a designer on the razor head, doing initial manufacturing tests, trying different materials for a comfortable shave, until arriving at the unisex safety razor you know now.
We’re happy today to offer a shave without irritation, without ingrown hairs, and especially without plastic, that adapts to all bodies.
